Each Friday I am posting a favorite resource that has really helped me or my family. I am rotating these based on different topics: favorites when we had little ones, favorites for our teens, spiritual growth, chores/skills and college preparation.  So if this week’s topic isn’t one you’re interested in, stay tuned for another week! For my general resource list that covers all those topics and many more, click here. Today’s favorite is the official ACT Prep guide.  This guide has undergone some changes over the years. When my oldest daughter went through it, it was called the Real ACT Book. But this link is to the newest version that is coming out at the end of May. They are taking preorders now.

I highly recommend taking practice tests multiple times and working on specific sections that your student is struggling with.  It’s also important to make sure you are taking the tests that are real and from the actual ACT. There are lots of imposters out there!  Also, try to get the newest version each year, because sometimes there are little tweaks to the tests and it’s best to be practicing on the latest stuff.

Here’s the link to preorder the newest version of this prep book.

Check it out!

If you are looking for scholarships, one of the most important things you can help your child with is by getting their SAT or ACT score as high as you can.  Combining this with solid academics and an incredible resume, and you’ve got a nice ticket to college entry and scholarship money.
