Each Friday I am posting a favorite resource that has really helped me or my family. For my general resource list that covers all those topics and many more, click here. For a list of all the Friday Favorites, I’ve ever posted: click here.
Today’s favorite is Training Hearts, Teaching Minds. This is a wonderful family devotional book that is good for all ages to do together. It teaches the Westminster Shorter Catechism in simple, easy to understand lessons. They are split up into covering one question of the Catechism each week for 104 weeks and then related devotionals over a period of 6 days. Honestly, I wish I had started this book earlier with my kids. It was really a special time when we went through it together, and I definitely could have spent even more time with it. I plan to get it out again this summer and do some more of the lessons.

Having a firm foundation is so necessary before they leave home. And it’s important to help them develop their own reasoning and heart for the Lord, apart from yours.
