Hey everyone! Happy July! I took 9 days off to have some much-needed vacation time! I thought it would be a good time to do a quick update on what’s going on this month at Intentional Arrows and a personal update too.
Intentional Arrows Update
This month, there’s a lot going on!
I am speaking this week at the Roswell Classical Conversations Practicum on Thursday afternoon. I’ll also be helping out in the bookstore some. My topic on Thursday is “10 Tips to Prevent Becoming Overwhelmed.” Don’t we all need that? I’m excited to get a chance to talk on this topic.
I’ve decided to turn that talk into a 10-day email challenge. I’ll be working on that this week and hope to have it up on the blog soon! Hope you’ll join me in taking the challenge.
I also have several blog posts coming your way: two on transcripts, one on anxiety, and my “Friday Favorites” post this week is going to be on a book that totally transformed my life, my walk with God, and dealing with anxious thoughts. So stay tuned for all those things in the pipeline.
Also, I have had several moms contact me about setting up appointments to help them with their high school planning, transcripts, and college searches. I’m excited to get to help them.
I’m considering what to do next. I’m definitely going to offer more study skills classes in fall. I’m also considering a “How to Homeschool High School High School” class for moms. And I have plans to turn my study skills class into an online class that you can take at home. Would you be interested in that? Reply/comment and let me know!
Personal Update
It’s been a while since I posted a personal update on our family. We enjoyed our vacation so much. It was a time to unwind and detox from the rat race in Atlanta! We stayed at the lake and had lots of boating and Waverunner time, as well as yummy food and fun movies. I enjoyed reading a lot and planning out my 90-day goals for July -Sept. This has really changed my life and made me more productive.
Craig is the hardest working guy I know. He’s working his engineering job and dealing with our broken AC units, fixing our pool (our house is really old!), and figuring out how we can install the Waverunner (which we got a major deal on) onto some kind of lift. Oh, and waging a war on raccoons who had babies in our attic!
Our oldest, who starts her 2nd year of college in the fall, is currently serving as an intern at a church plant in Vancouver. She has 3 more busy weeks left. This week they are hosting three sports camps, an outdoor BBQ, and an outdoor movie night in the community. I’m so proud of her for keeping up her piano skills by playing in their worship services, studying personalities so she can enhance her communication skills, and cooking food for her team. I’m amazed at all God is doing in her life and continue to pray for her to become the godly woman He wants her to be.
Our second daughter is going into her Junior year of high school. She’ll be in my class this year at Classical Conversations! I’m excited about that! She is working tons of hours at Chick-Fil-A as a Team Leader. This has given her plenty of time to deal with communication, crisis-management, and people skills! We’re finalizing her high school transcript from 10th grade tomorrow and she’s working on studying for the ACT. She also hopes to put on a dance workshop for some girls at the women’s shelter before the summer is over.
Our third daughter has had such a busy June with church ministry activities and church camp, I don’t know how she did it! But now we are settled down into July. She is finishing up one subject (math, of course!) and working on her guitar and piano skills. She plans to apply for a part-time job in the next couple of weeks that is close to our home. She’s starting high school in just a few weeks and we are getting ready to have two high schoolers in the home again!
Our fourth, the boy, is currently spending the week with his Grandpa having what we like to call, “Grandpa Camp.” This is otherwise known as “the time of his life!” They will do a bunch of projects together, eat ice cream, watch movies, and have some surprises that Grandpa has planned. He’s really turning into a more mature boy as he is heading towards 13. He has a small lawn business and my heart is so thrilled when I watch him work in the yard and do guy stuff. He’s definitely following in his dad’s footsteps. When he gets home, he’ll be working on math, practicing trumpet, and preparing for Challenge A in Classical Conversations.
So that’s it for me and a little update on what’s going on. I’d love to hear from you! What’s going on with you this summer? Reply or comment and let me know!
Blessings,
Michelle
I would be interested in an online class! I guess if it doesn’t work out for us to come to a live class that would be our second choice
Great! We will see. I’m going to do some live ones too this fall for sure.
